A Life Well Lived
My Great Aunt Delta passed away on Sunday evening at the incredible age of 97. We all thought she would make it to 100! After losing her husband in her early 50s and being a widow for over 45 years and then losing her only child, she was a pillar of strength even in her fragile, little body.

I like to think that my mother got a lot of her "spunk" from Aunt Delta! :)
Here's she is at her 95th birthday party in the summer of 2006.

Daredevil Benjamin
Benjamin has become quite the daredevil. He just wants to be free to roam without constraints. (However, he loves his stroller.) Here's just a sampling of what he's been up to lately.

This is where I found him when I turned around to get a towel out of the linen closet. I heard a small bump, but I thought he had knocked the shampoo in the tub (which he did). Immediately after he did this I thought of the sweet picture below (minus the water). Anyone recognize that cutie in the tub? It's Josh C who is now 10 years old.

Here's Benjamin trying to get out of his exersaucer. A better picture here would be my face when I found him crawling down the hallway after I put him in this piece of baby gear. It had a lean to it. So I put the stationary feet on it. He got out of it like that today

The funniest daredevil feat is when he tries to get out of his walker. He leans over, and then his feet get stuck. So, he starts picking up things off the floor and using his stomach muscles to pull himself back up. However, he made it out of this piece of baby gear yesterday.

Just for fun - he's his reaction to me not getting him out of the walker......or is he just tired of all the local campaign ads (see background).

Ciderfest
Our good friends, Thomas and Johanna, hosted a day at Thomas' parents' farm on Saturday. The day was filled with lots of homemade apple cider, lots of kids having a blast, and some really scrumptous food. The farm is almost three hours away, but the driving was well worth it! We all had a wonderful time. (I've had a few people ask about where I took Benjamin's 9 month pictures....now you know!) Thanks Thomas and Johanna for hosting such a fun event!

Random Picture Time

My nephews and my boys

We went to the zoo with Grandpa (my dad).

We are trying to grow grass around our play area. We had wood chips there but soon realized that that wouldn't work so well. So now we water and wait....
