Trip to the Zoo
We went to the zoo yesterday with my dad and his girlfriend, Benita. We had a great time! It wasn't crowded at all and the weather was nice.

My New Favorite Picture

Benita and Jonathan

Henry and Dad

We had a special treat while we were in the reptile area. The zoo employee in the photo is a friend from college. I ran into him, and he gave us a behind the scenes tour of the tortoise area. There are over 600 tortoises in this building! I had no idea that our zoo had the largest collection of tortoises in North America. He said next time we're there we can tour the other reptile areas which would be the snakes. Kristie - want to take a field trip??

Henry is a bit cautious at first.

They started to warm up to the tortoises.

Here's Phil trying to convince the boys that the tortoises won't bite them.

Up next for our family - a week at the beach. If we have internet connection, I'll try to post a picture a day.....

In search of. . . .
We put our crib together this weekend only to find that we had a wrong part to the crib. We tossed one of the cribs last summer because it wasn't in the best shape. Apparently, we put the wrong piece with the wrong crib. Now it takes some jimmy-rigging to put it all together, and we're just not comfortable with that. So, if anyone has a crib that we could purchase or use for 3 years, just let me know. The one we have is white and I have a white changing table, but I also have a honey colored dresser that is already in that room.

I'm no photographer
I'm no photographer, but I'd sure like to learn to be one. I've had a couple of cuties at our house this week, so I thought I'd take some pictures of them since they can't move very quickly.

End of Summer Pictures

My nephew, Drew, now lives in town. He's a freshman at UT.

Like father, like son

Both Rob and Henry stick out their tongues when they are deep in thought.

This is our friend, Parks. He's quite a cutie.

26 weeks and all is well!

I just returned from my 26 week OB appointment and ultrasound. Our little guy weighs in at approximately 2 lbs 6 oz. This is about the average size for a 28-29 weeker....So, I'm apparently growing a big boy in there. I'd love for him to weigh more than the boys put together. That would be at least 7 lbs 4 oz.

My blood pressure has been very good throughout most of the pregnancy. I had some higher readings around 16-20 weeks, but it seems to have dropped very nicely. But the good news is that I got my lab report back from my 24-hour urine test. Because of my history with pre-eclampsia and kidney damage, I have the honor of completing 24-hour urine tests throughout the pregnancy. It's a pretty simple task but not fun to do. I collect my urine in a 24-hour time period, and then it's sent away to a lab. Fun! Fun! To make a long story short, the normal for women is 0-150 mg of protein in a 24-hour time period. As the years have passed, my numbers have consistently decreased. My numbers have ranged from 1400+ to 240 since the boys were born. I am proud to announce that I am almost normal! My numbers from my last test on August 31 were 158mg of protein. I was pleasantly shocked with this result! I was hoping for the numbers to be stable since the last test at 10 weeks pregnant. I didn't imagine that they'd be 80 mg lower.

I've struggled off and on with fear throughout this pregnancy, and God has shown Himself faithful once again! Why do we ever doubt Him? Thanks for praying for me and our little guy! Please continue to pray that my blood pressure and protein would continue to stay normal (or almost normal in the case of the protein).

Hardwood Floors

Here's Rob laying the first row of hardwood.

For anyone who has done this job, you know it's quite time consuming. We are hoping to finish up the living room/dining room by tomorrow. The foyer will have to come later. . . .
